  A great night away

From first walking into reception to check, right through to settling up on leaving, we have to say this is one of the best overnight stays we have had. Everyone has a friendly welcome, the hotel is well maintained and clean, the rooms are excellent and it was one of the best night’s sleep I’d had in many months.

Although it is a wedding venue, the rooms are well insulated from any noise. Breakfast was plentiful and it was noticeable that the staff on duty in the morning were very efficiently keeping the food at a sensible stock level - all very enjoyable (although, and this is a very very minor point, I’d have liked the option for an espresso coffee rather than filter).

We dined in the lounge bar. The menu was varied, food perfectly cooked and some locally sourced. An impressively varied and sensibly priced wine list was a bonus.

We even had time to sit by the picturesque moat pond and watch the bats whirling around. All round a great night away and this is a place we look forward to returning to.

Our thanks to all the staff who from start to finish made this so memorable.

On the 07.05.22 we came here to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday, Well what can I say.
This place has EVERYTHING you could possibly want in a venue.
The room are outstandingly clean, tidy and comfortable, we had the best night sleep ever, and the food is absolutely delicious, the staff are extremely attentive and helpful. Well done Moat House for you high standards of hospitality and service. Your well worth recommending for any occasion. 10/10

  A hidden gem for M6 stop offs and more

Liked · We would never have found this hotel if not for booking.com's interactive map feature while looking for a stopover on the M6. Compared to the usual overnight stop offs this hotel is a gem, convenient location, lovely setting, a very nice room and an excellent bed providing rested sleep. We booked in to the restaurant for their Saturday night 'Gourmet experience' and honestly for the money, (£45 per head for 5 courses), you couldn't really fault it. Breakfast was also very well presented and well cooked. We will stop off again.
